Steven Tyler

Steven TylerUnder the guidance of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they took a few time in Boston's club circuit. The band then started working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). They signed a record deal in 1972 and debuted their debut album titled "Eponymous" in 1973. The album was followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This brought Aerosmith international recognition and fame. These albums were the inspiration of legendary hits such as "Dream On", Walk This Way and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks have been regarded as among the top hard rock albums ever. However, as the decade wore on the frantic pace of performing, recording, living together, and using drugs began to take its toll on the group. Due to their famous use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were called the Toxic Twins. Their relationship is documented in many of Aerosmith's video releases and in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler was apparently more dedicated to the group, and seemed to dislike Perry's aloof attitude. Perry, however, liked Tyler's choices for women she dated. Aerosmith was in decline in the 1980s due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
